Monday Motivation - Becoming Unstuck

"Sometimes when we're stuck, we need to look backward to move forward" ~ Jenny Kovacs

In 2008 I recognised the stigma attached with a brand new week, often Mondays were met with dread, a feeling of overwhelm and a sense of being stuck.

Not the best way to set yourself up for the day, let alone the week!

So I found ways to send motivational messages around the office to lift people up. In 2010 when I started my business, I was really keen to keep this up as a service to those who wanted it.

Today, I hope to bring the motivation to life, by creating the 10 minute space for you to activate your ability to today... Become Unstuck

Cast your mind back to your aspirations for 2016, where they for more fun, freedom, friends or love? Perhaps you wanted a better career, business or health? You may have wanted to smooth out their relationship with their families of those closest to them?

So you'll likely know that feeling, when you feel stuck right?

Take a moment to think about what you've got in mind for today, and this week, have you got a busy day at work? An awkward situation to deal with?

"Sometimes when we're stuck, we need to look backward to move forward" ~ Jenny Kovacs

Where are you feeling stuck right now?

And it could be something like, clearing out the garage, tackling the kids bedroom, a change of diet, even a change of job!

If you have a few things which spring to mind, pick ONE thing, grab a pen and paper and write down your answers to these questions.

1) Which of those things would make the biggest difference TODAY?

2) What have you tried before which hasn't worked?

3) Ask yourself this question, in order to move forward , what do I need to forgive myself for?

I share my own insights during this weeks 'Facebook LIVE' video and what that means if you're feeling stuck with something and trying to move forward.

In essence, forgiving yourself for the things you think you did 'wrong' can easily be a doorway to propelling yourself forward towards the things you do want.

Let me know how you use this nugget!

Can I ask you a question?

Ever wondered how to fully stretch yourself to your full potential?

A few days ago, as I was (quite literally) walking up the street, I shared this video live with the lovely Video Visibility VIBErs in our secret Facebook group.

So I figured it would be a great idea to share it with you too. It really helped me and apparently helped them too.

PS In terms of video visibility, I would ALWAYS recommend that you turn your camera sideways.

That way, you don't get those ugly black lines which squash your face and make you look like a teeny tiny version of you, especially as it's likely you're watch this from a teeny tiny phone screen.

Here's that video, it's seconds long!

Get Visible & Make Videos from anywhere...

Having fun creating your video Visibility?

Despite nerves, fear, heavy workloads, low funds, busy schedules a select went for it, they made video!

Here's how to navigate video to make it work for your life and or business;

1. Better to be nervous with support from someone who trains, coaches and supports in this way, with cheerleading from the group who are spurring you on.

2. Feel the fear and do it anyway, and once you've started the next one, and then the next one, frame by frame, step by step it'll become far easier.

3. When preparing for your business as usual, whether they're live events, presentations, looking after a family, webinars or life as it happens, making 'on-the-go' videos alongside what you're doing, raise your visibility, credibility and kudos. How?  Because once you're doing that presentation and people start looking for you online, they can see a build up of your historical, work, present work, they see evolution and your journey.

4. Video's don't have to be marathon mini films, even the 90 second video has been known to draw people to buy! A great way to enhance your cash-flow and boost your funds.

5. Even when you're 'off duty', your current and potential clients want to take a peek into the person you really are, whether that's time with the grandchildren, playing in the park, their first steps, laughter with friends and travel whether near or far. A tour of your desk, behind the scenes of your workshop, the children making cakes, those moments when captured on camera bring motivation and inspiration beyond measure.

The next step's are, how to easily do them, what to say on them and how to sell from them ... but I'll leave that for another post.

::: Why you're not just average :::

You say: I need to stand out from the competition, but there are hundreds of people who do what I do.

I say: Poppycock! (Or something a little more colourful)

When I pulled into one of the U.K.s average train stations, expecting to see 100's of trains which take you to 100's of destinations, I didn't expect to see this!

What if… ?

This train had considered itself 'the norm' just like all of the other trains in the station?

 It wouldn't have stood out!

With a few extra internal accessories, a colourful lick of paint and a unique name to personalise it all, this train got out there and stood out!

How do you stand out?

Do you try to whistle louder than the other trains or do you do something different, something uniquely you?

Visibility Faux Pas ~ That stuff that you don't do on purpose!

When getting new clients, it's an open invitation for people to buy your products and services, and it should be exactly that, an open invitation to which a person can respond yes or no... comfortably.

So why do so many allow their desperation to get in the way of new clients, customers or prospects?

It's weird because much like dating… people smell desperation a mile off!

Here are some Visibility Sales 'do's and 'don'ts'

DONT pretend you want to chat and then try to hard sell your products programs and services.

DO be open that there "might be a chance for us to work together", then ask, "shall we explore that?"

~

DONT spam their timeline or inbox with your stuff without their permission

DO share a post without links in your groups, the ones where you interact and engage, not just promote. Ensure someone has sign up legitimately to receive your emails, so that they can unsubscribe if they want to.

DONT send unsolicited messages to unsuspecting people on social media

DO remember that social media is just that, so be sociable, if you're connected to someone who's not expecting your a barrage of private sales messages from you, don't be surprised at getting a barrage of abuse, and a damaged reputation to boot!

The 'vibe' is a sale based on connection and trust, and trust me when I say these make much juicer clients. customers and advocates of your business.

Visibility on Video the Easier Way

Most people don't like doing video.

They say;

 "I'm not technical"

"I don't like being on camera"

"I'll do it once I've got a decent camera & proper lighting"

Here's the truth!

None of that matters!

Especially if you've got a phone which can make videos. (Most these days do). It's the easiest way to make a lasting impression AND give people a taste of how lovely you are.

See? "easy peasey lemon squeezey"

It only takes 30 seconds to make a video, WATCH here

::: Are You a Visibility Ghost? :::

Is this email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser.

Ghostly Goings On...

Oh Yes! I’m jumping on the Halloween bandwagon, but with good cause...
Are you being a visibility ghost? Do you even believe in them or know what they are?
You’ll know if you're a visibility ghost when you;
~ See other people and businesses getting out there, but when it comes to you, you freeze with fright and can’t get started or maintain momentum.
~ Hear other peoples great ideas, phrases or expressions and your sixth sense feels like the best way forward is to model theirs until you’ve found yours
~ Often feel like you’ve got too much to do to get out there, and it feels frightful to keep out there and when you try to keep up with it all, you wear yourself out.
Halloween Health Warning...
Before I dispense 3 quick pain killer cures, know that painkillers temporarily fix the pain, but in order to permanently, solve the underlying cause diagnostic action is required and I’ll let you know how to get a free diagnosis after you taken the painkillers.

Cauldron Cure 1
Fright and lack of momentum in visibility, often come from not feeling 100% confident with what you’re putting out there or not knowing exactly how, for you or your business. The painkiller cure is to get your leverage lenses on and go for the smallest thing that would make the biggest difference to you. Decide, pick and focus on that first.

Cauldron Cure 2
Appreciating or resonating with someone else’s great idea, means that their message speaks to you. When a person attempts to recreate someone else’s work, it contains someone else vibe and energy and means that no matter how hard you try it just doesn’t fly.
So the painkilling cure here is to explore, your work, what you do and how you do it uniquely. Focus on what you do with your clients and how you do it. The pattern will soon emerge, and you’ll realise that you have your own way, your own vibe and your own step by step process. It’ll also mean that your frustration levels will drop when you think that they can’t hear you, and their interest in what you do will soar as you find your voice.
Cauldron Cure 3
At the risk of sounding boring, having a little structure in place will most definitely provide a calm and enjoyable work life which is in harmony with your home and private life too. Structure has allowed me to be free to create and work without the ‘writers block’, feeling stuck or not knowing what to post, when.
Painkiller Work with the time you actually have, so if you’re a working mother with a family to look after, establish when you have specific time to work. If you’re growing a business and working at the same time you’ll need to create time to do both or maybe you’re expanding in your veteran business, and you require a framework so you feel less overwhelmed.
Plan your activities in blocks, for example, writing, admin, calls, etc so that you’re not switching from task to task within a working day. The also allows you to harness and use your energy, in the best way, for you, for your life and your business.
Those cauldron cures are effective pain killers, but once you have a diagnosis you’ll be able to uncover the underlying cause, to your visibility ghostly ways, no tricks just treats!

~ Facebook Visibility ~

I want to share something important with you in terms of Facebook visibility and it's this...

Numbers are not important in order for you to be seen by those you love or who love what you do!

A post which I love, and have shared on my public page has gone viral. This despite my likes (genuine likes, and not bought likes), Being under 1000.

It shows 3 things;

1. You don't need to have big numbers of likes to be seen and heard

2. It doesn't always have to be YOUR content, often posts which capture our imagination will capture those connected to us too

3. This isn't a numbers game, this is about building community. So it's likely that those who love you and what you stand for, will also love what you do AND what you share.

PS Here's the 'proof', as that's important for people to know too (obviously)
