[Video Visibility] Why Do Facebook Lives?

When I look at what’s ‘out there’ especially when it comes to Facebook lives, I see hundreds of talented businesses ‘having a go’ at Facebook lives.

Once upon a time I would have gone for 110% perfection, then over time I went in the complete opposite direction and just went for it, just had a go, but I slowly found that that dishonoured my clients as much as waiting for it to be perfect. Back then, I got the help I needed to strike the balance and learn to do it well, not perfectly, but done well and in a relatable way.

Then. And only then…

After that I implemented, practised, implemented again, took action, did it and sometimes didn’t, (which was a total nightmare by the way) and held myself accountable to others around me.

I know that Facebook lives look casual, but before I got to be casual, I had to get to what I wanted to share and why, here are three questions which helped

~ what about what I do makes me different?
~ what about how I do it makes me different?
~ why does what I do make a difference?

As a fairly intelligent and well informed business owner who knew what I wanted, I felt like I was being pulled in different directions, trying to brand myself and my message ‘properly’.

During my time working with one coach, I even came to the conclusion that because others are doing it (and seemingly successfully), I should too.

The problem was that I lost myself, my message and what I was really about, when I asked myself those 3 questions up there, I realised something very clearly.

Although Facebook lives are a small part of what I offer, it’s an important part, but here's what I realised…

You are far too brilliant to ‘have-a-go’, and so are your clients and what you share.

PS What I also realised, was that true brilliance didn’t want to wait, and the most important thing about sharing is that you MUST do it as YOU not me.

[Article] Stop being visible like this! ~ 5 things to ditch and dump before New Year

Stop being visible like this! ~ Five things to ditch and dump before New Year

If you're not building the visibility traction you want from your ideal clients, or if it feels like people just aren't engaging with your work.

It's not because you're "bad at what you do".

It's not even because, "they're clearly not ready to invest with you"

It's more than likely that you're being held in invisibility by one or more of these "dumpable" behaviours.

Firstly, here's why you're doing this.

I know you have every good intention of getting something out there because that's what you're supposed to do right? You had every intention of sharing something but behind-the-scenes you're really busy scrambling around trying to get it done, too much to do not enough time.

It's likely that you sought advice, but whose advice exactly have you sought? Is it from a friend? Are relative? Someone that you know, you like you trust? Or is it someone that knows specifically how to achieve the results you're looking for someone who is played at it but someone who knows?

Of course you think it's a good idea!

The world already has a Gary V and somebody who is forthright says what they like, likes what they say.

But ... you've always been brought up to be polite so when you share your information and spread the word, not only do you want to be polite, you don't want to offend anybody and certainly don't want them to unsubscribe, leave your group or even unfollow you.

Don't worry! Help is at hand, because I'm about to shine a light on what will work better for you …

1. All mouth no trousers!

'Watch this space' and 'coming soon', is all well and good if this is something to watch out for and something really is coming soon. For many of the people reading your things, they're in that space now and may not come back soon, let alone even remember to come back soon.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself! Are you all mouth and no trousers?

Ditch this because: You're putting undue pressure on yourself while accidentally offering empty promises.

2.Make yourself exclusive

I was once advised by a coach in my early days, to make myself exclusive. I literally took that to mean a business form of playing hard to get. I removed contact details from public places. I made sure that my information was abundant but didn't offer any other next step's or contact me information.

In short I made myself pretty unavailable, so just check your online and off-line presence, for example if you don't do business cards, how do people you meet in the flesh best get hold of you?

Ask yourself… "How easy are you to get hold of?"

Ditch this because: you're being aloof, not exclusive

3. Are you vanilla?
Strong people, with a clear message and a strong voice know that there is no point sitting on the fence.

They know who they really are, they own who they really are and they claim (and are proud of) their opinion. Some may agree, some may disagree but this point isn't about being marmite it's about vanilla.

Are you too middle of the road in how you communicate to those people who both know you and haven't met you yet?

Ditch this because: You've got your own unique flavour, let people taste it

4.  Are you an avid boast poster?
You know the kind of post saying?

Look at me, look at my shoes, look at my holidays, look at my house, look at me look at me look at me!

Whilst these types of posts have their relevance, they can also be very self-centred, in your face and do little to involve the reader. In fact, often it leads to the reader going into a state of comparisonitis or jealousy, both fairly ugly traits to attract.

When thinking of sharing this type of post, many people keep invisible by forgetting to share why they're sharing the post for the purpose to the person reading it. That little addition will make a huge difference to those that you want to work with and equally who want to work with you.

Ditch this because: when people follow you they feel the ugly traits, they'll mismatch and you'll stand out for all the wrong reasons.

5. Do you ACE your audience?

A - Acknowledge
C - Connect
E - Engage

All too often whether online or face-to-face, people are left standing and ignored, and acknowledgement of them verbally or virtually remedies this in an instant and renders you visible to them.

It's the best way I know to genuinely connect with the people and who in turn love what you do.

The best way to keep yourself invisible is to never engage with the people who take the time and effort to reach out to you, comment on your blog, your posts, your talk. That's right! Ignore them at your peril and all that hard work you've put in to getting their attention in the first place will dissolve faster than a snowman on a beach.

Ditch this because: It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it… and you know the rest!

So these are just some of the ways that you may have accidentally been keeping yourself invisible, so what's next?

What do I do in the 101 other daily business situations Jenny, I hear you scream?

First up, I suggest you go back over those top five tips, put them in place now and notice the results that you start to get from those alone.

Next, surround yourself with more people who think like you and act like you, where you can have these types of open conversations and more.

Today's Monday Motivation uncovers 5 easy, "Go for it" steps

What better time to boost motivation than on Monday's and if the message resonates well with you, or you feel it's for someone you know, please share it with your colleagues, friends, employees or family, in fact anyone who looks like they could use a smile.

Get Visible & Make Videos from anywhere...

Having fun creating your video Visibility?

Despite nerves, fear, heavy workloads, low funds, busy schedules a select went for it, they made video!

Here's how to navigate video to make it work for your life and or business;

1. Better to be nervous with support from someone who trains, coaches and supports in this way, with cheerleading from the group who are spurring you on.

2. Feel the fear and do it anyway, and once you've started the next one, and then the next one, frame by frame, step by step it'll become far easier.

3. When preparing for your business as usual, whether they're live events, presentations, looking after a family, webinars or life as it happens, making 'on-the-go' videos alongside what you're doing, raise your visibility, credibility and kudos. How?  Because once you're doing that presentation and people start looking for you online, they can see a build up of your historical, work, present work, they see evolution and your journey.

4. Video's don't have to be marathon mini films, even the 90 second video has been known to draw people to buy! A great way to enhance your cash-flow and boost your funds.

5. Even when you're 'off duty', your current and potential clients want to take a peek into the person you really are, whether that's time with the grandchildren, playing in the park, their first steps, laughter with friends and travel whether near or far. A tour of your desk, behind the scenes of your workshop, the children making cakes, those moments when captured on camera bring motivation and inspiration beyond measure.

The next step's are, how to easily do them, what to say on them and how to sell from them ... but I'll leave that for another post.

Visibility Faux Pas ~ That stuff that you don't do on purpose!

When getting new clients, it's an open invitation for people to buy your products and services, and it should be exactly that, an open invitation to which a person can respond yes or no... comfortably.

So why do so many allow their desperation to get in the way of new clients, customers or prospects?

It's weird because much like dating… people smell desperation a mile off!

Here are some Visibility Sales 'do's and 'don'ts'

DONT pretend you want to chat and then try to hard sell your products programs and services.

DO be open that there "might be a chance for us to work together", then ask, "shall we explore that?"

~

DONT spam their timeline or inbox with your stuff without their permission

DO share a post without links in your groups, the ones where you interact and engage, not just promote. Ensure someone has sign up legitimately to receive your emails, so that they can unsubscribe if they want to.

DONT send unsolicited messages to unsuspecting people on social media

DO remember that social media is just that, so be sociable, if you're connected to someone who's not expecting your a barrage of private sales messages from you, don't be surprised at getting a barrage of abuse, and a damaged reputation to boot!

The 'vibe' is a sale based on connection and trust, and trust me when I say these make much juicer clients. customers and advocates of your business.

Visibility on Video the Easier Way

Most people don't like doing video.

They say;

 "I'm not technical"

"I don't like being on camera"

"I'll do it once I've got a decent camera & proper lighting"

Here's the truth!

None of that matters!

Especially if you've got a phone which can make videos. (Most these days do). It's the easiest way to make a lasting impression AND give people a taste of how lovely you are.

See? "easy peasey lemon squeezey"

It only takes 30 seconds to make a video, WATCH here
